M.Sc Computer Science is a two year full-time programme approved by Bharathiar University, that follows a semester pattern of four semesters – three semesters of course work and one semester of project work. The objective of this programme is to provide students with in-depth knowledge in the key areas of computer science and to impart knowledge and practice in emerging, cutting edge technologies in IT. The programme will enable the students to develop software solutions to real world enterprises through IT with international standards and facilitate them to be outstanding professionals.

Upon completion of the programme, the students are expected to have acquired

  • Broad knowledge in core areas of computer science, current and emerging technologies in IT.

Theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom is put into practice and tested in laboratory sessions. The lab sessions provide necessary exposure to the application oriented languages/packages and tools.

The curriculum provides a chance for students to undergo summer internship in industries enabling them to learn business processes and to apply the software engineering concepts to develop solutions using latest technologies for the real life problems.

The fourth semester project is intended to build applications using latest technologies to compliment the theoretical knowledge, to sensitize the students to the nuances of a work place by under taking time bound real life projects in industries and to provide a platform to network which will further their career prospects. Guest lectures, workshops, seminars and industrial visits are an essential part of the programme
