B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) - Film Making

The program begins by imparting comprehensive knowledge of the history, theory, and practice of the world of cinema and discovers the relationship and relevance of films to the development of a forward thinking society. It explores the film cultures from around the globe in the ambit of their respective socio-historical contexts.

Students gain familiarity with the various forms of films such as mainstream films, avant-garde, documentary, animated, and experimental film and media. Students learn core skills related from film conception to film production and are prepared to make original visual texts.

You will gain the understanding of film and media and will learn camera work, editing, and sound. We place emphasis upon the technical dimensions and knowledge of the filmmaking process in equal measure. The course helps students to develop wider perspectives on the use and function of film production.

Students will learn how to research, develop, write and design a narrative that later on becomes a film. You will achieve inter-personal skills and confidence through self-analysis, learning, mentorship, responsibility and hands-on experience. You will learn to critically and constructively critique your own work and that of your peers.

The creative, technical and analytical skills are developed through lectures, workshops and master classes. You develop an individual creative voice by participating in production-based assignments where you write, direct and edit your own work. You work with fellow students on their assignments and hence develop valuable collaborative skills and team work. In the final year you are a part of a major production that is screen-ready for the society. The course will instill in you the highest levels of professionalism using a collaborative approach to problem-solving and situation analysis.
